The World at War (30th Anniversary Edition)

Sir Jeremy Isaacs highly deserves the numerous awards for documentaries he has earned: the Royal Television Society's Desmond Davis Award, l'Ordre National du Mérit, an Emmy, and a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. His epic The World at War remains unsurpassed as the definitive visual history of World War II.

The Second World War was different from other wars in thousands of ways, one of which was the unparalleled scope of visual documents kept by the Axis and Allies of all their activities. As a result, this war is understood as much through written histories as it is through its powerful images. The Nazis were particularly thorough in documenting even the most abhorrent of the atrocities they were committing--in a surprising amount of color footage. More than 2.5 million sold worldwide since the beginning Kinects

Microsoft announced today that more than 2.5 million Kinects have been sold worldwide since the remote sensing camera movement launched early this month.

"President of Microsoft's interactive entertainment business"we are excited about the consumer response to Kinect and we are working hard with our retailers and manufacturing partners to accelerate production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as quickly as possible to keep up with demand,"Don Mattrick said in the statement to the press.""With sales has already surpassed the two and a half million units in just 25 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday."

As November 15th from 10 days after the release, a Kinects million had been sold, and sales almost doubling during the past two weeks, thanks in large part to Black Friday (no doubt) has been clear that Microsoft has a bit of a hit in his hands, even if the line game leaves much to be desired in this momento.Y seeing as there are still many shopping days holiday, predicting at least another 1.5 million units are sold at last year.(1,398,944 is "Baña in Kinects" Stephen Johnson, but still.)
